My name is Masha and together with my husband Giovanni
and our sons, Valentino and Mia we would like to welcome you to la
Chiusa.
"LA CHIUSA" isn't just an agriturismo
(farmhouse), a restaurant,
and an organic farm. I grew up here and now, 24 years
later, I am raising my daughter here too. I lived
in a simple environment, in daily contact with my
parents and with the values that they transmitted
to me by example. I completely embraced the world
of la Chiusa. It was natural for me to fall in love,
marry, have children and...cook, managing La Chiusa
with my husband. For this reason, "LA CHIUSA" isn't
the classic commercial venture where the final goal
is profit. All of the energy that surrounds it is
filled with history and its perfume is the scent of
Love. It is a small, but profound example of the greatness
of life and its continual renewal. I want to succeed
in transmitting to you, if you feel the desire to
come and and find me, this serenity because with your
very participation all of this can continue...

La Chiusa is a farm born from the reconstruction
of an antique rural home, immersed in seven hectares
of open countryside, in a valley among the most evocative
of Umbria:, the valley of Niccone. It is found just
at the border between Umbria and Tuscany. From 1979
we have dedicated ourselves to the restoration of this
house and to the care of the surrounding land searching
to create a "real and familiar" atmosphere where our
guests could feel at home.
Here you eat, like in a time
long past, food which has primarily been grown on our
own land. It is prepared for you fresh, in a simple
mode, so that the real flavors can be recognized. The
bread is made with our own organic flour and eggs from
our chickens, and then baked in our wood-burning oven.
The vegetables were picked from the garden a few hours
ago. The animals raised on our farm eat organic grain
and live a healthy life in the open. The veal and lamb
come from two nearby farms where our friends Gianni
and Kurt raise their animals with the same respect.
The wine, red and white, is the fruit of my husband
Giovanni's passion. Our cooking is derived from the
Italian tradition but sometimes you will taste a dish
of Bulkan origin or with other cultural influences.
Our desire is to create, every time, a unique and particular
dining experience. Even though we are only a small grain
in this beautiful region, here, at La Chiusa, we try
to touch your spirit and your heart. |
